in Windows Vista

Windows Defender real-time protection gives protection to your PC from malware and other threats. But if you are not attached to network or if you have other good Antivirus softwares, you won’t be requiring the Windows Defender feature since it reduces the system performance. So, you could turn off this feature. For doing it, just follow the simple steps given below.

1.First select the ‘Control Panel’.
2.Double-click the ‘Windows Defender’ icon.
3.Click the ‘Tools and settings’ link and select ‘Options’.
4.Clear the ‘Auto Start’ checkbox.
5.Click ‘Save’ to save the changes.

If you follow all the above steps correctly Windows Defender will be disabled.
