Anyone could set their status as ‘invisible’ in the Gmail chat application and could become invisible in front of others so that no one would disturb them. But you could find out if somebody has signed out from the chat or if someone is in the ‘invisisble’ mode with a simple trick. But for doing this, you should have the ‘Google Talk’ desktop application. If you have it, then just follow the steps given below.
1. First of all, login to your account.
2. Launch ‘Google Talk’.
3. Type the person you are looking for’s name in the search box and search for the contact.
4. Select the contact from the contact list and open the chat window.
5. Click on the dropdown button which is present just under the ‘close’ button.
6. Click on ‘Go off the record’.
7. Now, send any message to that person.
After doing all these steps, if a message telling, ‘<email ID> is offline and can’t receive messages right now’ is shown, then the person has signed out. But if no message is shown, then it means that the person/user is in the ‘invisible’ mode.
