Adjust for the Best Performance of Applications in Windows

By adjusting for the best performance of applications instead of background services in Windows can increase the performance your system. For doing it, just follow the steps given below.

1. Open the ‘Control Panel’.

2. Double-click the ‘System’ icon.

3. In Windows 7 or Vista, click the ‘Advanced system settings’ option on the left pane and in Windows XP, just double-click the system icon and the ‘System Properties’ dialog box appears.

4. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab, click the ‘Settings’ option under the ‘Performance’ section and the ‘Performance Options’ dialog box appears.

5. Under the ‘Processor scheduling’ section in the ‘Advanced’ tab, check the ‘Programs’ option for adjusting for the best performance of applications.

6. Click ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’.

1. Open the ‘control Panel’.

2. Select the ‘Hardware and Sound’ option.

3. Select the ‘Power Options’ and select the ‘High performance’ option.

Now your power options will be set to high performance and this can speed up your Windows 7.

Disable Aero Peek in Windows 7

In the earlier versions of Windows, an option named ‘Show Desktop’ which allows you to view only the desktop by minimizing all the other windows on clicking on it and again makes it in the previous form by clicking on it once again. In Windows 7, the old ‘Show Desktop’ option has been replaced by a new feature called ‘Aero Peek’. The ‘Aero Peek’ is a small rectangular icon present at last in the taskbar. When you move the cursor over the Aero Peek button, you can view all open windows in a secret way(Peek). This is done by hiding all the windows and showing only the outlines of all windows. But the ‘Aero Peek’ feature uses a lot of memory and so for speeding up Windows 7 or if you are in the habit of not using the ‘Aero Peek’ feature, you can disable the ‘Aero Peek’ feature. For disabling the ‘Aero Peek’ feature in Windows 7, just follow the steps given below.

1. Right-click on the Taskbar.

2. From the context menu select ‘Properties’.

3. In the ‘Taskbar’ tab, clear the ‘Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop’ checkbox.

4. Click on ‘Apply’ and then on ‘OK’ to save the changes.

Now, the ‘Aero Peek’ feature in your Windows 7 will be disabled.

Disable or Change Aero Theme in Windows Vista and Windows 7

The Windows Aero theme has a variety of features that makes your Vista/Windows 7 appear beautiful but it takes a lot of memory for it and ultimately it slows down Vista/Windows 7. So you could turn off the Windows Aero appearance and put other simpler Windows themes to speed up Vista/Windows 7. For doing it, just follow the steps given below.

1. Open ‘Control Panel’.

2. Click on ‘Appearance and Personalization’ button.

3. Click on ‘Customize colors’ button under ‘Personalization’ option and from the window that appears.

4. Click on the ‘Open classic appearance properties for more color options’ option at the end of the page that appears.

5. Now, in the ‘Color scheme’ option you can switch to other Windows appearances other than Windows Aero i.e. ‘Windows Vista Basic’, ‘Windows Standard’ or ‘Windows Classic’. It will be better to select ‘Windows Classic’.

Thus, the Aero theme in Windows Vista/Windows 7 will be changed and this can speed Vista/Windows 7 a lot.

Speed up the boot time in Windows Vista and Windows 7

You can disable the GUI boot and use the ‘BOOT Advanced options’ to speed up the boot time. By doing it you can speed up the boot time not by much but a little bit. For doing it, follow the steps given below.

1.Click on the ‘Start’ menu.

2.Select ‘Search’.

3.Type ‘msconfig’ in the search box and press [Enter] and the ‘System Configuration’ window appears.

4.Select the ‘Boot’ tab.
5.Select/tick the ‘No GUI boot’ checkbox.

6.Click the ‘Advanced options’.
7.Make sure that the ‘Number of processors’ ckeckbox is selected.

8.Select the maximum number of processors i.e. if you have a single core, then you will be able to select 1 or if youhave dual core, then 2.
9.Make sure that the ‘Maximum memory’ checkbox is selected/ticked.
10.Put it to the maximum memory.
11.Click ‘OK’ to save the changes.

A way to make the text on the screen more clear

You can make the on-screen text more clear by increasing the resolution. But this will make the screen very blurry. There is an another way for making the text on the screen more clear and readible that is by increasing the font size by adjusting the monitor settings.

For viewing the text more easier, you can change the display settings. But as mentioned above it would make the screen blurry. So, for avoiding this situation follow the instructions given below.

1. Right click on the screen and click on ‘Properties’ option.

2. Select the ‘Settings’ tab and click on the ‘Advanced’ option.

3. In the ‘Display’ box in the ‘General’ tab, click on the DPI combination field.

4. Choose ‘Large size’ option or after selecting the ‘Custom setting’ option adjust the value.

5. Click on ‘Apply’ and then on ‘OK’ to save the changes.

Disable the Delete Confirmation in Windows

The Windows brings up a confirmation dilog box each time when select a file and press the [Delete] key to delete it. This confirmation dialog box appears to confirm the deletion of the selected file.But if you are executing a system cleanup and deleting random files, you may not be needing the delete confirmation message given by Windows. In this case, you can disable the delete confirmation message with the help of the steps given below.

1. Right-click on the ‘Recycle Bin’ and take the ‘Properties’ option.

2. Clear the ‘Display delete confirmation dialog’ checkbox and click the ‘OK’ button to save the changes.

You have got a new device whose driver has to be installed in Windows.If the installation failed in the first attempt, the Windows aborts all your attempts that follows the first one showing an error message. Entries and data will be left behind by these failed installations and depending on the point where the installation was interrupted, it causes trouble for your computer. Sometimes, these fragments may satisfy the Windows to believe that it already has a correct driver installation, though the partially installed data interferes with the proper functioning of the device.
